About Me

Hi, I’m Marvin Jimenez, a portrait and travel photographer proudly born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. My journey into photography began back in 2001, and from the moment I picked up a camera, I knew I had found something special. What started as a curiosity quickly became a lifelong passion—one that continues to grow with every person I meet, every place I visit, and every frame I capture.

For me, photography has always been about more than simply taking pictures. It’s about storytelling, connection, and capturing a moment that can never be recreated. With portrait photography, I love capturing the personality, confidence, and individuality of the person in front of my camera. I want my portraits to feel natural and authentic—images that look like you, not just a pose.

Travel photography gives me a completely different kind of inspiration. There’s something exciting about exploring a new place, experiencing a different culture, finding an interesting street, landscape, or moment, and capturing it through my own perspective. I’ve been fortunate enough to photograph and explore places including Japan, Ireland, the UK, and many incredible destinations throughout the United States. Travel continues to remind me that there is always something new to see and another story waiting to be photographed.

I’m also a bit of a camera gear enthusiast. Over the years, I’ve owned more than 20 professional cameras, and I’m always interested in learning about the latest technology and finding new ways to improve my photography. I enjoy experimenting, learning, and pushing myself creatively because I believe there is always another way to make an image better.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me shooting hoops, lifting weights, or planning my next adventure with my wife. We especially love visiting Orlando’s Universal Studios, and traveling has become one of my favorite ways to find inspiration. At home, our two beagles, Lucy and Luna, keep life full of energy, mischief, and plenty of personality.

Photography has allowed me to experience places I may have never seen, meet people I may have never known, and preserve moments that would otherwise exist only for an instant. That’s what keeps me passionate about photography after all these years.
