San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Mirror Mirror

Sometimes in places that are not considered picturesque you have to make the most of what you got. Here we have an ordinary golf club house locker room. I asked the groom to button up his jacket in front of this mirror making for an extraordinary picture in a not so extraordinary location.

San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Popular Locations

One of the most popular and iconic locations to shoot portraits is in front of the Majestic Theatre on Houston Street. To give this image a feel of motion I decided to shoot across the street on a tripod and had the newlyweds stands still as I slowed the shutter speed to show a bit of blur by the passing taxicab. By doing this, it gives the feel of the action of a busy city street.  Note: Nick and Allie are one of few couples who actually had their ceremony inside the Majestic Theatre.

San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Candid or is it?

Coming up with fun concepts that look candid are some of my favorite portraits. For this photo had Lubo and Holly order a milkshake and share it with two straws like something out of a 50's movie. We shot at a local restaurant called the Pig Stand and I was actually in the kitchen, manager approval of course to capture this fun and romantic image.

San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Fashion Shooting

When shooting fashion its good to have a concept. I was shooting a concept photo for a local bridal boutique and I thought what would be cooler then a bride and an airplane. This portrait was a bit complex. I had two off camera flashes. The key was an alienbee with a parabolic umbrella. The other flash was off to the right side of the image with only a reflector.

San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Creative Ideas for an Engagement Portrait

I love to collaborate with my couples and by doing so amazing portraits can be created. Patrick and Marilu had the idea of incorporating fishing into one of their engagement portraits. When hearing this, I got pretty excited and created this image.

San Antonio Wedding Photographer - Lighting Makes a Difference

Shooting my third wedding at ZaZa Gardens, I knew the pool outside would make for a great portrait because of its leading lines to the subject and beautiful reflections of the water. I've captured other portraits there before but never at night. Being pitch black with only one street light and a few tea candles in the water would make a terrible dark image because of the absences of light. To counter this issue I decided to use two canon speedlites. One was directly behind the happy couple acting as a back light and the other in front out of frame as a key light.
